Abstract: I interpret the Greek genitive εὐδοκίας in Luke 2:14 in line with other genitives in Luke and in the NT as God’s ‘favor/goodwill’ which describes people in some way: they are its allies or its reflection. I propose the translation: ‘people of favor/of goodwill’.
