Abstract: Since its very origins “biblical theology” has known debates and divergent positions concerning its identity, and its placement among and relation to other theological disciplines. The present contribution seeks to situate the debate within today’s religious and cultural context, and it identifies in the “dialogic” character one of the more fruitful paths for facing the diverse problems that the discipline “biblical theology” continues to pose.
