salvation or judgement, is a prominent theme in the OT, especially in the decisive moments of Israel\u2019s history like exodus, the institution of the monarchy and the consecration of the temple, the exile and return from the exile. It acquires a vital role in the P wilderness wandering narrations where its appearance resolves problems and sustains the endangered relationship of Israel with their God. At the same time, on some other occasions its manifestation heightens the tension in the narration which culminates in the punishment of the people involved.
