online:<\/strong> 2017-12-01<br \/><strong>Published in print:<\/strong> 2017-12-30<\/p><p><strong>Abstract: <\/strong>The title of this contribution is developed in the present study. It deals with the relationship between Paul, the apostle of the Gentiles and the Mother church of Jerusalem. The first part of this intervention deals with the \u201cgrowth\u201d of the early community in Jerusalem and its impact on the rest of the other Christian communities in the first cent. AD. The second part outlines the figure of Paul before his \u201capostolic calling\u201d, then his mission \u201camong the nations\u201d. Finally, Paul\u2019s double movement is presented with regard to the \u201cMother church of Jerusalem\u201d: the staggering force that drew him to her and the centrifugal force that moved him away from her.
