The award primarily represents a form of moral recognition for scholarly and academic contributions in the field of exegesis and exegetical research published mainly in the journal <em>StBiSl<\/em>. Consideration is also given to the recipient\u2019s broader contribution to the field of biblical studies. The award has been conferred biennially since 2012.<\/p><p>The editorial board of the journal <em>Studia Biblica Slovaca<\/em> conferred the CJB for the first time in 2012. Historically, the first award of this kind was granted to the best lecture delivered at the Conference <em>Psalms 2012<\/em> in Bad\u00edn (13\u201314 September 2012). This marked the first step in establishing the tradition of recognizing outstanding contributions published in the biblical journal <em>StBiSl<\/em>. The primary purpose of awarding the CJB is to express moral recognition for scholarly and academic work in the field of exegesis and exegetical research in Slovakia and worldwide.<\/p><p>The award is named after <strong>Jozef B\u00fada<\/strong>, one of the major figures in Slovak biblical scholarship.
