Dissertation on the Significance of Relationships in the Book of Revelation

On Monday 1 June 2026, Peter Olas, a priest of the Diocese of Žilina, successfully defended his doctoral dissertation, titled The Meaning of the Expression “Those Who Are with Him” (Rev 17:14): An Exegetical-Theological Study of Relationships in the Apocalypse, at the Faculty of Theology of the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome. In his Italian-language dissertation, he examined the relationship between the community and the Lamb of God. Further details about the event and the content of the dissertation will be published in the next two issues of the 18th volume of the Studia Biblica Slovaca journal.

Upcoming Issue: StBiSl 18/1 (2026)

The first issue of Volume 18 of the journal will soon present several scholarly studies. The Old Testament contributions will address the composition of the Psalter and the Hebrew expression concerning the “evil eye”. The New Testament studies will focus on Judas in Luke’s writings, the “ruler of this world” in the Gospel of John, traces of Hebrew in the Gospels, as well as Paul’s obscure reference to what is “written” in First Corinthians. New insights and information will also be offered in the sections Abstracts, Reviews, and Reports.
